Suella Braverman has recommended that the Conservative Party “Welcomes” right-wing politician Nigel Farage.
Braverman’s Say on Farage
Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman has insisted that the Conservatives should welcome Nigel Farage to the Party.
Saving The Tories
With the Tories struggling to keep up with the rise of Reform UK, Farage’s right-wing Party, Braverman claimed there was one man who could save them.
Comparing Policies
Braverman compared Farage’s political policies and the current Conservative policies, insisting there were enough similarities to take on the controversial figure.
“I Would Welcome Nigel”
According to Braverman, “I would welcome Nigel into the Conservative Party. There’s not much difference really between him and many of the policies that we stand for.”
Farage’s Alleged Tory Support
Braverman claimed that if Farage is complimentary of the Conservatives and wants them to win the election, then he should be allowed into the Party.
Tories as an “Inclusive Party”
Braverman called her Party “a broad church,” insisting it is an “inclusive party,” before suggesting Farage should be welcomed.
Welcoming Any Supporters
“If someone is supportive of the party, that’s a pre-condition and they want Conservatives to get elected then they should be welcomed,” Braverman said.
Britain’s Right-Wing Favourite
Nigel Farage is a popular political figure among Britain’s right-wing voters, as seen in the results of his latest move.
Farage’s Political U-Turn
Farage, the former leader of the Brexit Party, recently reversed his decision not to run in the general election, announcing he would be taking part.
Taking Over From Tice
The former UKIP leader took over from Richard Tice as leader of Reform UK just before campaigning began, and the results worked wonders.
Reform’s Rise in Polls
As a result of Farage’s U-turn, Reform UK performed miraculously in the polls, putting them just two percentage points behind the Conservative Party.
The Farage Effect
These results would have Prime Minister Rishi Sunak shaking in his boots, as the “Farage Effect” put the Tories in danger.
Changing The Spectrum
Previously, the Tories were sitting 6 points ahead of Reform UK in the polls with 21% compared to Reform’s 15%, but now that’s all changed.
Voters Jump to Farage’s Support
After Farage’s decision to replace Tice as leader of Reform, voters switched from the Conservatives to the right-wing Party, closing the gap to just 2 percentage points.
Braverman Sacked for Far-Right Views
Braverman herself was sacked from her role as Home Secretary due to her controversial opinions on pro-Palestinian marches, calling them “hate marches.”
Welcoming Islamophobic MP
Farage is the leader of the same Party that accepted former Tory MP Lee Anderson, who was suspended by the Conservatives for his Islamophobic comments about Sadiq Khan.
Anderson’s Controversial Comments
Anderson claimed that the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, had allowed London to be run by Islamists, who he referred to as Khan’s “Mates”.
Anderson Echoes Braverman’s Comments
Anderson later defected to Reform after uttering the comments, which echoed Braverman’s comments on Islam in the UK.
Braverman Incites Hateful Remarks
Before Anderson made the comments, Braverman also claimed that the UK was under the control of Islamists and anti-semites.
Tories’ Close Ties With Reform
Braverman’s similar comments to Reform’s Lee Anderson combined with her appreciation of Nigel Farage shows that the Tories have similar ideals to Britain’s far-right.
