While hoping to win over the British public, the controversial former Brexit Party leader was pelted with various objects, and now he has responded.
Construction Debris Thrown at Farage
While he was parading around South Yorkshire in an open-top bus, Farage found himself being targeted by missiles made out of construction debris.
Video Goes Viral
The video, showing the culprit throwing the missiles and later being arrested by South Yorkshire police, was posted on social media, causing Farage to respond.
Crowds Cheer on Farage
Despite one man’s decision to throw objects at Farage, the video showed a crowd who were much more pleased to see him, chanting “Nigel” as he rode past.
Blaming the Left
Farage’s response condemned the attack, blaming the left and accusing them of being violent, although he made one promise to his supporters.
“Violent Left-Wing Mob”
Farage insisted the attack was made by a “violent left-wing mob who hate our country” before making his promise.
Attack Won’t Stop Campaign
Despite the attack, which he believes was made using a combination of cement and used coffee cups, Farage insisted he would not let it stop him.
Farage’s Pledge to Supporters
After thanking the South Yorkshire Police for their efforts, Farage pledged to his followers “These people want to stop my election campaign. That’s never going to happen.”
Farage’s British Response
After the situation had died down, Farage spoke at a rally in Great Yarmouth explaining his thoughts after the attack, and doing so in the most British way.
Farage Will “Not Surrender”
Farage, who just days before the attack was also targeted with a milkshake over his head, claimed that he would “not surrender to the mob.”
Tactical Change Needed
The former UKIP leader admitted that the attacks proved one thing: that he needed to change his election tactics to win over the public.

According to Farage, “All I can say is that whilst it’s concerning and whilst of course it does make me thoughtful and I may need to change tactics.”
