With the plans for nationalising rail services now in place, public ownership of railways will become a reality when contracts with rail companies expire or even sooner.

Reasons to Improve

If lawyers seek a reason to terminate contracts earlier due to poor performance, public ownership of rail services will happen sooner than expected.

A Win-Win Scenario

This will give rail companies such as Avanti West Coast a reason to improve their services to the public, meaning the nationalisation could be a win-win.
